'Summer' Holiday

We took our summer holiday this year in September and went to the west Welsh coast just south of Aberaron to stay in a lovely holiday cottage in the hamlet of Morfa. The weather wasn't brilliant but we got to do and see quite a lot all the same and also managed to catch up in Carmarthen with our friend Miles.

View of Llangranog (1.5 miles from the cottage - great view and ice creams!)

Olivia paddled but didn't like the waves too much and kept on rebuking them (!). She must have thought she was King Cnut!

Coffee and lunch in Abararon. The honey cafe served THE BEST chocolate cake I've ever eaten. It was also a very windy day:

Honey Farm:

Vale of Rheidol Railway and walk around the waterfalls. Olivia did so well on that walk - particularly with the Jacob's ladder steps. Took about 1.5 hrs to complete. Daniel was in the borrowed backpack on Richard's back:

Lunch on the way home:

The inevitable mountain of laundry to get through on our return:

Wild West Nantwich

We got invited to a cowboy/cowgirl themed wedding reception. Richard wanted to go as a Mexican but the sombrero I bought him didn't fit so he just wore a cowboy hat instead and I made him a poncho out of some nasty curtains I found in Catalogue Surplus. Most people thought he'd gone as Clint Eastwood but one person was heard to say 'I see one of the Chilean miners has got out!'.

Similar?

Can you tell which is which yet? One is Daniel at 4 months, the other is Olivia at 8 months.

Golden Wedding

Graham and Jean celebrated their Golden Wedding this year with a family lunch at The Royal Victoria Hotel. Afterwards, Aunty Kate popped by with Thomas for a quick visit.

Daniel in the Door Bouncer

Caught on camera - Daniel's first attempt at bouncing in the door bouncer! Previously he'd only just sat there and let me bounce him up and down.

Foxgloves

I don't remember planting foxgloves in our front garden but I suppose I must have done it at some point. They looked fabulous, although I'm reliably informed that my more elderly neighbours disapproved of their disorganised nature....

Dancing in the Rain

Olivia LOVES the rain. She also LOVES dancing...so the two combined = huge excitement!

Visit from Bex and Co

It was lovely to see everyone.

What Has He Bought....?!

Richard really needed to get a van for work. He managed to track down a 'bargain' on Ebay and caught the train to Bangor to collect it. There were no other bidders....can't think why! The black areas were painted on using blackboard paint. Richard's sister suggested writing in chalk 'www.webuyanycrap.com' on the side....

Me and My Baby Boy (altogether now...aaaahh)

The New Co-Op

Somerfield in Newport changed hands and became the Co-Op. We went down one Saturday just after it opened to get some milk and found them doing some kind of promotional event. Olivia had her face-painted and got to be a butterfly for the day.
